Being She is working on their own corporate social responsibility plans.
Change starts with each of us, Seriously! Every woman, even the most indifferent, laziest person among us—is part of the solution.
We have selected 4 sustainability goals of the UNGC that resonate with us, our aims and objectives. We are aligned and focused on working towards -
Health&Wellness - Besides the fact that women are half of the population, the conditions concerning women are becoming more and more prevalent in the entire population. Take infertility, for example. Women have been struggling with the realities of the rise in infertility for years—many turning to wellness to optimize their health in order to get pregnant or to heal the mental scars and reestablish their identity when they realize it won’t be an option for them ,So why should you care about women’s health issues? Because women’s health issues are global health issues, environmental health issues, children’s health issues, and yes—men’s health issues, too. You should care about women’s health because chronic disease like anxiety, thyroid dysfunction, and IBS are on the rise in a major way for everyone, and there are more cases of autoimmune disease now than ever. At being she, we're ready to help lead the fight by providing a platform for women to share their stories and resources that will help them make the most informed decisions about their health.
Environment - Being She believes that women have an indispensable role to play in environmental management and development and are therefore an essential part to achieve sustainable development. The role of women in tackling and changing environmental challenges must be increased in order to draw on a wider range of modifications and focused targeting of reform strategies.
Protecting Our Environment - Findings “Women’s consumption” of household goods and services is more often representative of family consumption as women are generally in charge of shopping, food preparation, gift-buying, and disposal of used items. Women spend more than men on consumer goods, especially in the categories of hygiene, medical care, health and nutrition, clothing shoes, books and culture.
Women propose more comprehensive approaches to those advocated by men, but they have less power and influence to affect public policy. Women tend to focus more on lifestyle and social changes to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, including reducing the impact of unsustainable consumption and production patterns on the environment and promoting actions such as energy-saving and greener purchasing.
We have a critical role in bringing about changes in attitudes and encouraging the adoption of greener lifestyles and climate-friendly values for our children. Awareness and education about climate change, its causes and ways to avoid it for all age groups is among the steps we advocate.
Education – Provide through collaboration inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. Women themselves would like to know more about life skills, technology, entrepreneurship, financial management, career options among indicating a role for better training in this area and Being She provides this information, tools campaigns through the monthly She Talks and our more high-profile public event Being She Universe 2020.
Equality – What is needed- To support gender equality and empower all women and girls. Ensure women’s full and effective participation and equal opportunities for leadership at all levels of decision making in political, economic and public life that should include the following
- Support reform in our home countries to give women equal rights to economic resources
- Access to ownership and control overland and other forms of property
- Financial services
- Inheritance
- Natural resources
Enhance the use of enabling technology, in particular, information and communications technology, to promote the empowerment of women.
